Stud Contract Terms and Conditions For Chilled Semen/Live Cover
Service Fee
The applicable Service fee of $2,000 is payable before collection, 24hr live foal guarantee.
Application And Booking
All bookings must be made with the stud directly. No semen will be shipped until the Service Fee is paid in full. In the case where a mare is agisted at the stud no mare will be permitted to leave the stud until the all outstanding fees are paid in full. The stud reserves a right to refuse the application if the mare is considered unsuitable (due to breed, confirmation faults or other).
Chilled Semen
Chilled semen is provided for insemination into one mare only. As soon as you feel your mare may be coming into season please call to let us know. You must call us at least 48 hours before requiring the semen to confirm. Chilled semen must be ordered by 9am for delivery the following day. Please order on the following number - 0405 525 714. If you reach an answer machine please leave a message, including your telephone number and we will call you back to confirm. If we do not confirm your call please call again to be certain we have got your message. Chilled semen can only be delivered Monday to Friday inclusive. Please inform your vet.
Service Certificate
Once your mare is in foal, and on completion of a veterinary certificate to confirm this we will forward you the Service certificate if you have completed the Request for a Covering Certificate.
Refund Policy
To qualify for a refund we require a letter from your vet confirming that your mare is not in foal by the agreed date. The refund will only apply to the balance of the Service fee less $200 administration fee.
Transportation
All costs associated with delivery and collection of mares or semen transportation are to the owner's account.
(1). The mare owner will pay for all associated costs for chilled semen. These include transport and freight costs. Neither Kentaur Australia or any associated entity will accept responsibility for the safe and on time delivery of the chilled semen.
(2). The owner of the mare must forward to the stud within 60 days of the last service a veterinary certificate proving either a positive or negative pregnancy test and the service fee will be refunded or a service certificate will be issued.
Liability
All reasonable care will be taken by the Stud but no responsibility will be accepted for any illness or injury to a mare whilst she is in the care of the Stud.
Free Return
In the event that a pregnant mare does not produce a live foal or the foal dies with 24 hours of the time of birth the Stud will offer a free return. The free return is only available for 24 months from the date of the original service. Another mare may be substituted.
