The Poponcini Baby Pelham Bit allows the rider to engage more poll pressure, and the use of a chain or strap behind the chin also adds an element of strength. This bit is suitable for horses who prefer a soft bit, but are just too strong in the snaffle version. The baby Pelham has shorter shanks than the standard Pelham and can be used with two pairs of reins, or equalisers.
